The Community-Based Natural Resources Management (CBNRM) Learning Center, formerly the CBCRM Resource Center, is a non-government organization based in the Philippines that works with people's organizations and other civil society institutions towards enabling communities to sustain their resources and livelihood.

ALL in CBNRM LGs tackle Theme 2: Understanding CBNRM Contexts

Five (5) out of the eight identified learning groups (LGs) in the ALL in CBNRM program participated in the online discussions on Theme 2 entitled "Understanding CBNRM Contexts". These include VECO from Flores in Indonesia, SNV and FoF/NUoL in Laos, the Hue University of Forestry and Agriculture (HUAF) coastal group in Vietnam, and the FPE and MCME from the Philippines. CBCRM Review and Strategic Re-visioning Research: CBCRM community looks at results of Honda Bay pilot study

Around 32 participants from NGOs and POs implementing CBCRM in the Philippines attended the national workshop last 24-25 October 2006 for the CBCRM Review and Re-visioning research being conducted by the CBCRM Resource Center/CBNRM Learning Center. CBNRM Learning Center launches special website on the Guimaras response

The CBNRM Learning Center has recently launched a special online site on the CBCRM community's actions on the Guimaras incident. Guimaras response aims to serve as a portal to the growing body of online resources on the Petron oil spill off the coast of Guimaras island in the Philippines. The site is also meant to provide an online hub for CBCRM practitioners who are currently helping in the efforts to contain the oil spill and move towards long-term rehabilitation of the affected communities. CBCRM community responds to the Petron/Solar 1 Oil Spill

The CBCRM Resource Center, Oxfam Great Britain, UP College of Social Work and Community Development (UPCSWCD), NGOs for Fisheries Reform (NFR), and the Kilusang Mangingisda led other CBCRM practitioners and civil society groups in conducting a round table discussion on the Petron/Solar 1 oil spill last 8 September 2006 at the UPCSWCD Audio-Visual Room. The CBCRM Resource Center, under its new legal identity as the CBNRM Learning Center, recently joined a collaborative program on adaptive learning and participatory development approaches. Filipino songwriter Joey Ayala starts research project with RC

Popular Filipino composer and performer Joey Ayala has teamed up with the CBCRM Resource Center in an action research project that aims to document and record local songs and other artistic creations by fishers and coastal communities. The research, entitled "Songs from the Seas", will cover five (5) provinces in the Philippines and is envisioned to heighten people's awareness of local knowledge and CBCRM. more ...
